Changelog

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡ SmartWire Studio v0.5.0

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡ Swiss National Day β€” released 1 August (Schweizer Bundesfeier).

This update is all about making the Dashboard easier to read β€” whether you are planning with your family or wiring the project as an installer. Under the hood, the whole app shell, components, and user data handling got a major refresh.

Customer view β€” your home at a glance

  • Project pulse: The top of the dashboard shows your project name, progress, and one clear next step.
  • Room grid: Every room as a tile β€” not started, in progress, or complete. Tap to expand lighting and wishes inline.
  • Grouped by floor: Multi-storey homes group rooms under each floor.
  • Open items: A short list of what still needs attention, or an "all clear" message.
  • Quick actions: Shortcuts to family planning, room functions, lighting, and house structure.
  • Simpler setup checklist: Plain language for customer view; technical steps stay in installer view.
  • Welcoming start screen: Guided planning when no project is open β€” not installer demo scenarios.

Installer view β€” health first, detail when you need it

  • Health strip: Critical issues and warnings at the top with links to fix them.
  • System status: Clickable KNX/DALI totals (devices, addresses, bus lines, power supplies, DALI segments).
  • Trades at a glance: Compact table β€” expand a row for actuators, room breakdown, PDF export.
  • Lighting summary: Circuits, power, and exports in one compact row.
  • Fewer empty sections: Unused trades hidden by default (Show empty trades optional).
  • Warnings: Top five issues first; Show all for the full list with tab links.
  • Sticky health bar on mobile.
  • Project-type aware: ESPHome for DIY, DALI segments for KNX+DALI, mixed-project badges.

Look & feel

  • Refreshed dashboard colours, gradient hero card, smoother expand animations (respects reduce motion).
  • Theme choice: Light or dark where supported.
  • Sharper on mobile: Better trade rows, room tiles, and horizontal scroll for German headers.

Easier navigation & reliability

  • Bookmarkable tabs: URL hash reflects your tab (#/lights, #/dashboard).
  • Better dialogs: Focus traps in wizards and slide-overs for keyboard and screen readers.
  • Smoother updates: Less full-screen refresh when editing data.
  • Safer tab loading: One failing view no longer crashes the whole app.

Languages

  • All new dashboard texts in English and German.

Tips

  • Customer view: Person icon in the toolbar.
  • Installer view: Hard-hat icon for wiring, exports, topology, full technical control.
  • Dashboard: Start here after opening a project.
