SmartWire Studio v0.5.2

SmartWire Studio v0.5.2

Released: 6 August 2026

This update deepens KNX group-address planning — guided setup, richer block-engine options, and safer ETS export editing — while adding a Villa Grande demo project, zone overview exports, and an accessibility pass across the app.

🧭 KNX group-address setup wizard

  • Guided assistant: New step-by-step wizard for initial GA configuration — address style, block engine vs. schema mode, hierarchy, naming, and optional extensions.
  • Contextual recommendations: Warns when room or floor counts exceed ETS middle-group limits; explains block vs. schema trade-offs in plain language.
  • Preview banner: KNX address preview prompts you to run the assistant when settings are still at defaults.

🔌 Block engine & schema planning

  • GA template preview: Room functions and the trades table show which KOs will be generated per variant — answers the classic forum question “which addresses do I need?”
  • Extended schema slots: Optional toggle reserves lock, diagnose, operating-mode, and climate KOs in blocks (HVAC uses a unified 15-slot block size).
  • Plan as dimmable: Reserve dimming slots even for switch-only circuits — unused addresses stay free for later upgrades.
  • Block grid alignment: Optional 10-address grid (0, 10, 20…) for block start addresses, matching common integrator practice.
  • Reserve rows in preview: Empty KO offsets inside a block appear as Reserve rows — gaps are visible without exporting phantom GAs to ETS.
  • MDT jalousie profile: Built-in MDT JAL-0810.02 (Blind 14-KO) vendor profile for 14-object blind actuators and ETS6 multi-linking.

📋 KNX address preview & export

  • Per-address export toggle: Exclude individual GAs from ETS XML/CSV; excluded count shown in the toolbar; toggles persist correctly across preview refreshes.
  • Stable address IDs: Export inclusion state no longer breaks when the preview regenerates — accordion sections stay open while you edit.
  • Reset address structure: Clear all locked GAs and block metadata to fix duplicate ETS imports and start a clean re-export.
  • No duplicate growth: Re-export no longer accumulates duplicate addresses in ETS import files.
  • Clearer toolbar: Search, filter (all / included / excluded), and export actions grouped for faster QA before ETS import.

📦 Exports & demo content

  • Zone overview PDF: New wiring export summarising power supplies, controllers, circuits, loads, and unassigned lights per zone.
  • Villa Grande scenario: Large KNX demo — 4 floors, 32 rooms, spa, cinema, all trades, 4 bus lines, 215+ functions — for exploring block engine and dashboard at scale.
  • QA fixtures: Updated ETS6 sample XML/CSV plus Villa Grande JSON fixtures under docs/qa/fixtures/.

🏠 Dashboard & vendor profiles

  • Trades at a glance: Lighting now appears alongside shading, HVAC, and other trades — with assignment progress and quick actions in the expanded row.
  • Clearer labels: “Assigned” and “Needs attention” replace technical wording on installer dashboard sections.
  • Vendor profile editor: Saves without re-rendering all KNX settings; icons refresh consistently after edits.

♿ Accessibility

  • Form fields app-wide: Inputs and selects now get matching id, name, and associated labels across detail panels, wizards, and tables — including Trades, Lighting table, and Light detail.
  • Shared helpers: FormGroup, Textarea, and table control utilities for screen readers and autofill.
  • Dialogs & panels: Improved keyboard and assistive-tech support in confirm dialogs and side panels touched in this release.

🐛 Fixes & reliability

  • Missing icons: Added Castle and MoreHorizontal Lucide icons used in KNX settings and menus.
  • Demo scenarios: Empty-home scenario cards click reliably again (E2E smoke tests).
  • Cloud projects: Hardened project codec when saving and loading from the cloud API.
  • Detail panels: Additional EN/DE strings for wiring and device fields.

🌐 Languages

  • New wizard, block-engine, export, dashboard, and accessibility strings in English and German.

💡 Tips for installers

  1. Open KNX Addresses → run the Setup assistant if the preview banner appears.
  2. Review GA requirements on a room function before assigning actuators — check variant and block size.
  3. Use exclude from export for reserve or placeholder GAs you do not want in ETS yet.
  4. If ETS shows duplicates after re-import, use Reset address structure, then export fresh XML/CSV.
  5. Try the Villa Grande demo from the start screen to explore block engine, trades dashboard, and zone overview at scale.
